Launch of “Unveiling Memories” -Book, and “Quizstory: Spanish Friendship” App

On Wednesday, October 5th, 2022, The Cultural Office of the Embassy of Spain, the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute, and Iberdrola, joined efforts for the presentation of the book “Unveiling Memories” and the launch of the app “Quizstory: Spanish Friendship.”

The event was presided by Mr. Santiago Cabanas, Ambassador of Spain to the U.S.A.

The two institutions responsible of the projects were represented by Begoña Santos, Executive Director & COO, Queen Sofia Spanish Institute, Rafael Orbegozo, adviser to the Chairman’s Office at Iberdrola and José M. Guerrero, director of the book by Iberdrola.

“Quizstory: Spanish Friendship — Revolutionary War History Game” is an educational game designed for players to learn more about the history of the United States during the American Revolution. It tells the story of how of the United States achieved the dream of the independence thanks to the strategic help of allied countries such as Spain. The development of the game and its historical aspects have been sponsored and advised by Iberdrola.

“Unveiling Memories”- the book- was published in 2021. Its content highlights the historical events, people and places directly involved with the contribution of Spain and the Hispanic people to the Independence of the U.S.

Along its three chapters -Sequences of a History, The Cast of Characters, and Imprints on the Sets- plus the specially commissioned illustrations, the reader can discover the important role played by Spain and the Hispanics in the birth of the new nation. “Unveiling Memories” deals with this shared history, using a modern design and an easy reading format.
